Johnny Duncan

[+]
Johnny Duncan was signed to Columbia in 1966, but it wasn't until 1973 that he had his first Top Ten hit, "Sweet Country Woman." In 1976 Johnny Duncan recorded a Kris Kristofferson song called "Stranger" with Janie Frickie jumping from a backup singer role to a sort of almost-but-not quite duet status. "Stranger" was Top Five hit and kicked off several years of serious hit-making for Johnny Duncan, including the #1 hits "Thinking Of A Rendezvous," "It Couldn't Have Been Any Better," and "She Can Put Her Shoes Under My Bed Anytime." Through the '80s Johnny Duncan recording career waned then disappeared but his rich vocals are still a treat for his many fans.
