Eddie Dean

Eddie Dean was one of the best singers among the singing cowboys who starred in western films in the '30s and '40s. In the mid-'40s Eddie Dean starred in a score of westerns and later had his own western TV show. He wrote a number of the songs that he sang in these films, and then in 1948 he penned "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" which became a major pop and Country hit over three decades. Seven years later Eddie Dean wrote "I Dreamed Of A Hillbilly Heaven," a sizable crossover hit for Tex Ritter. Eddie Dean was voted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame in 1993.
